Escalade® Sports Acquires Murrey® & Sons Billiard Assets
Evansville, IN (May 28, 2002). Escalade®, Inc. (NASDAQ: ESCA) through its wholly owned
subsidiary, Escalade® Sports, has acquired certain assets of Murrey® and Sons, Los Angeles, CA. The assets acquired are related to the manufacture and distribution of Murrey's exclusive line of premium indoor and outdoor billiard and soccer tables marketed under the Murrey® brand name. The Murrey family retains ownership of Murrey International, a manufacturer of bowling equipment.
Murrey® and Sons Billiard Tables was first established in 1938 by the original founders Henry J. Murrey and his son Gordon W. Murrey. Both gentlemen were master craftsmen, expert woodworkers and true entrepreneurs. The Murrey family to this day has continued the tradition established by their founding members... manufacturing the world's finest billiards tables at competitive prices. The Murrey heritage and legacy of craftsmanship can still be seen in every billiard table produced today.
Escalade® Sports will continue the Murrey tradition of building the world's finest billiard tables available in the marketplace. This acquisition brings additional manufacturing expertise to Escalade.
